About Izabela Poznanski
Izabela Poznanski is a trial attorney who represents people who have been seriously injured through the negligence of others. With more than a decade of experience, she handles medical malpractice, premises liability, construction and workplace injury, and motor vehicle cases. She guides her clients through every stage of their case, from the first meeting through trial and appeal, in state and federal courts throughout the Chicagoland area.
As the daughter of Polish immigrants, Izabela understands how intimidating it can be to face an unfamiliar legal system. She makes sure every client understands their case and has a voice in it, whether they speak English, Polish, or Spanish. Earlier in her career, she worked at a defense firm, where she saw firsthand how insurers evaluate and try to minimize claims. She now uses that insight for one purpose: getting justice for injured people and their families.
Izabela earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in 2015. She served on The John Marshall Law Review and was selected for its Board as Lead Articles Editor, and she was a semifinalist in the U.S. South Regional of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. While in law school, she served as a legal intern with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and volunteered at the Chicago Legal Clinic’s Foreclosure Advice Desk. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago in 2010.
Izabela is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is fluent in Polish and conversational in Spanish.
When she’s not advocating for her clients, Izabela is usually reading nonfiction, because she never stops wanting to learn. She lives in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood with Savannah, her rescue pit bull mix. Savannah joined the family after Izabela lost her first rescue, a Staffordshire terrier, and Izabela remains a devoted supporter of animal rescue organizations.
