J oseph A. Konrad is an associate at Salvato O’Toole & Froylan and concentrates his practice on personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and workers’ compensation. Prior to joining the plaintiff’s side, Mr. Konrad was an associate at a well known Chicago defense firm where his practice was focused on the defense of personal injury, product liability, toxic torts, and civil rights cases, representing major corporate clients and municipalities. As a defense litigation associate, Mr. Konrad represented clients in numerous jurisdictions throughout the State of Illinois, taken and defended depositions throughout the country and achieved dismissals in a very high percentage of his cases. However, Mr. Konrad came to the realization that representing the seriously injured, rather than defending against, was a much more meaningful and fulfilling career path, and thankfully switched sides. As such, Mr. Konrad brings valuable experience and perspective to the plaintiff’s side as he has spent the majority of his young career defending against such cases and understands what is required to successfully prosecute personal injury cases.

Mr. Konrad earned his Juris Doctor and LL.M. in International Business and Trade Law, with Honors, from The John Marshall Law School, with Certificates of Concentration in International Corporate and Finance Law and International Trade Law. Prior to law school, Mr. Konrad graduated with a Bachelor of Science in International Studies with a Minor in Political Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

Mr. Konrad is a native and lifelong resident of Chicago, growing up in its Galewood neighborhood. He is active in his community as a member of the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer with Catholic Charities Legal Assistance. He enjoys playing golf, traveling, and is avid Chicago sports fan. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Fenwick Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.
