About Karl Hunsicker

Karl Hunsicker came to Salvato, O’Toole and Froylan in 2016 with an extensive background in medical malpractice and catastrophic injury litigation. Since his legal career began in 2004, Karl has exclusively represented victims who were killed or injured by the negligence of others. He is a seasoned veteran of nearly 20 jury trials and over 100 arbitration hearings, often as the sole lawyer for the plaintiff. Karl greatly enjoys guiding his clients through the long and complicated legal process, which can sometimes be confusing and even terrifying without the right lawyer.

The highlight of Karl’s career so far came at a trial in DuPage County, a venue well-known for its stingy juries. After the client’s previous lawyer’s mistakes caused the judge to bar the client’s doctor from testifying, Karl took over the case and despite no settlement offer and no treating doctor testimony, obtained a jury verdict that was twice the amount of monetary damages suffered.

A native and current resident of Chicago’s Northwest Side, Karl attended the area’s Luther North High School where he lettered in football and wrestling and was an editor on the school newspaper. Karl graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where he continued wrestling and also wrote for the school newspaper. He obtained his law degree from The John Marshall Law School where he fought for victims of discrimination as a member of the law school’s Fair Housing Clinic. Having obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth, Karl still supports his former Boy Scout Troop and actively volunteers for several Substance Abuse Support Groups. In his free time, Karl enjoys bowling, camping, rooting for the Bears and reading classic literature.

People who are injured by the negligence of others are often legally entitled to compensation for their losses. Among the types of damages available in many Illinois personal injury cases are those for medical expenses, lost income, loss of future earning potential, property damage, and loss of enjoyment of life, among others. The Chicago personal injury attorneys of Salvato, O’Toole & Froylan have been helping victims of preventable accidents recover for their injuries since 2010 and have recovered multiple settlements in excess of one million dollars on behalf of their clients. We use a contingency fee arrangement in our representation of all of our personal injury clients, meaning that we do not collect any legal fees unless we successfully recover on your behalf.
